St. Vincent De Paul

Gary Grove is the President of The Society of St. Vincent De Paul at St. James the Less Catholic Church.  There are approximately 60 members that belong from St. James and approximately 40 from St. Paul, Resurrection, and St. Joan of Arc parishes.

The food pantry is one of the many services to the community that St. Vincent De Paul provides to those in need.  The service is provided to those residing in the 43224 zip code and all parishioners.  All receiving this assistance must go through Hands On Central Ohio or J.O.I.N (Joint Organizatin for Inner City Needs). Food is donated by many SJL parish members and surrounding parishes.  Some food is purchased through the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.

Food Pantry Hours are from 6 PM to 7 PM

The food pantry is always looking for volunteers to help with this worthwhile cause.  It is a very rewarding service opportunity.  The hours volunteers are needed to distribute the food are Monday through Friday from 5:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Any amount of time you can offer is appreciated.  If you have any questions or would like to contribute in any way, please contact St. Vincent De Paul at 614 447-1074.

St. James the Less/St. Vincent De Paul Mission Statement

The Society of St. Vincent De Paul is an international organization of lay persons founded in 1833 by Blessed Frederic Ozanam and his companions under the patronage of St. Vincent De Paul.  It seeks, in a spirit of justice and charity, and by person-to-person involvement of its members, to help those who are suffering, or in need, striving to renew and adapt itself to the changing conditions of the world.

Catholic in character the Society is open to all who wish to live their faith by living and serving their neighbor.  It serves people in need regardless of creed, opinion, color, caste or origin.  There is no distinction regarding wealth, position, social status, or ethnic origin in the Society.  Members form throughout the world with those they help are one and the same family.

Vincentians seek through prayer, meditation of the scriptures, their daily lives to bear witness to the love of Christ.
